The Armoury
The Evolution of Armour & Weapons
Workshop Description:
Throughout history Kings and Emperors would do battle for land and resources, wealth and freedom. This workshop focuses on the evolution of different types of armour and weapons used throughout history. This workshop allows students to touch and hold replica weapons and armour from the time period.

Soldier Training
Workshop Description:
Ever dreamed of becoming a Knight, Spartan, Ninja, or Samurai? During this workshop your students will be presented with different challenges that will test a variety of physical and mental aspects that were an essential part of being a soldier during ancient times. Each student will be assesed and given an ancient warrior classification based on their skills and abilities.

Medieval Dance
Workshop Description:
This workshop brings entertainment during the early civilisations to life. In this workshop your students will have the opportunity to not only learn when and why people in the medieval ages danced but they will also have the opportunity to learn and join in actual dances from that time period.

This workshop is not only interactive but physically active as well (and FUN!). This enriching experience has students discuss the significance of dance in the medieval ages as compared to modern day, with special emphasis on where there are similarities (continuity) and where there are differences (change).

Early Societies and Dance
Workshop Description:
Dance has been an integral part of most civilizations since the beginning of recorded history. People have danced for a variety of reasons and your students will have the opportunity to see a number of dances from early civilizations. They will discuss the similarities and differences between some of the dances from various civilizations and the reasons why people have danced for centuries. Finally everyone will get to experience the joy associated with an ancient style of dance when they are given the opportunity to learn and perform an early-civilization's dance with music.

This workshop is a multimedia interactive (and active!) experience which includes opportunities for students to discuss the significance of, continuity or changes in, and patterns and trends associated with dance within and between various civilizations.

Comparative Scale
Workshop Description:
A completely interactive, multimedia, presentation where students are shown in various ways (e.g., video, photos, and real world and physical space examples) the scale of ancient objects, buildings, diets, etc. with comparisons to modern examples and equivalents. Examples will be used from multiple cultures including (as time permits): Ancient Egypt; the Mayans/Aztecs; Medieval Europe; and Ancient Rome.

This workshop includes aspects of mathematics, geography and social justice issues. In particular this workshop offers opportunities for students to recognize and discuss the continuity and changes between early civilizations and their modern-day lives. Additionally, students will be given visual references to help shape their understanding of the trends and patterns associated with various human factors.

Early Societies Presentation
Workshop Description:
This presentation will test your students’ knowledge of different ancient civilizations (teachers will have the option to customize this presentation based on an overview of 6+ civilizations or a more comparative presentation based on a more in depth look at two ancient civilizations. Individual civilization can be determined by the teacher beforehand) and deliver curriculum based information that will aid them in Building Their Own Empire!
